Ian headed into the starbucks. He was finished working in the Asylum but currently lived on the property. All paranormals and gifted were to never leave the compound. Thankfully he had an apartment real close to it. He stuffed his hands into his pockets and waited patiently in line for his turn.
His dark hair was brushed back neatly and his blue eyes canned over the small crowd that had gathered in. It was about 5PM now, most of the staff were heading home. The only ones that were residents in the asylum were the teenagers. Adults over 20 were able to live on their own, just close by.
He was dressed in a pair of black slacks, a white shirt, matching dark tie, and a suit jacket over it. His doctor Id was clipped to the lapel. The starbucks was about five minutes on the asylum compound.
The sky had darkened now, turning a purple pink which meant the sun was setting. The air took on the spring scents of flowers, freshly mowed grass and rain. It had sprinkled earlier and the cars were still damp, droplets clinging to their paint and windshields.
The line finally moved a bit and Ian gave the girl behind the counter his order and waited. The booths weren't that crowded so he took his stuff and headed over to one of the booths. He slid into one of the booths and began munching on his croissant and took a sip of coffee. He sat there wondering who else would enter the starbucks.

The days were getting more boring. Years have gone pass and still she held the photos of her children. Still blaming herself and wished that she should have protected them, after all she was their mother right? Walking along the pavement towards her favourite place which was Starbucks. A reason, there wasn't one. It could have been the fact coffee smelt beauitful and taste stunning.
Wearing her favourite clothes which was a pink dress with pink shoes. Her hair was allowed to fall onto her shoulders. Blond and well kept. The smile was back on her face, thanks to the wonderful job of the doctors and nurses at the asylum. Going towards the counter and smiling at the person. Hello can I take small coffee, cream, two sugars to go please?.
She was waiting for her coffee, and decided to read the paper. She suddenly felt something was in the room with her. Looking around she spotted the doctor who worked in the asylum. Gulping as something about was scaring her. Maybe he was a werewolf or even a vampires, the very people she was really scared of.
Quickly she paid for her drink and hoped he didn't see her so she was able to leave the building. Yes he maybe the staff at the asylum. But too Leighanne he was another person that she was scared about and just want to avoid. Quietly but quickly she hoped to get out of the building without any trouble at all. Ian looked up and spied Leighanne. He broke into a friendly grin and waved at her.
"Hey Leighanne! Come join me" he called to her in a friendly tone.
He sensed that she was a shifter, which was fine. He had nothing against the rest of the supernatural community, being they were in the same boat anyway. It was time to put aside differences and work together to stop this war and hopefully live among the humans like they had for a long time before.
"Lovely evening isn't it?" He continued smiling at her in a friendly way. He sensed that she was also a bit afraid of him. He didn't understand why, being he would never hurt anyone. As much as he disapproved of the human's, he would never hurt one either, let alone a human child.
"You look like a deer caught in the headlights," he teased her deliberate with the pun. He took a sip of his coffee calmly and waited for her to head over to him.
Out side the sky darkened a bit and the streetlamps had come on. There was a path that led all around the compound near the asylum so it was basically almost like a college compound except they were unable to leave at any period and visit their family.

Leighanne heard him calling her over and she gulped a little. Slowly and nervously she walked towards him. Yes he maybe staff of the asylum and she was just one of his many patients, but still she rather be on his good side then be on his bad side. Reason number two she would like to stay on his good side, is that he was a guy and may beat the crap out of her like the last man did.
Her dress was waving side to side as she moved more over the table. Slowly she opened her mouth to speak to him. Hello. Dr. Smith. What are you doing here? Her tone was really nervous, scared and timid. She sometimes wished she was able to shift into her deer form. She would be able to run and hide inside the mist as a ghost ran through.
What do you mean? I think you have the wrong person sir, she kept looking at the photographs I would be with you soon, my sweetheart, she kiss the photo and cried at the same time. Looking at the doctor again. What are you she sighed. She kicked out with her legs and slowly touched his leg by accident. Feeling embarrassed about this she soon got up shaking the same time. sorry about that. I better go before I get into trouble. Seeing I the patient here, I better get going she said and slowly got up from the chair, leaving her coffee, to leave the building.
Heart was still grieving for her children and she missed them every single day. Stroking her hair, she saw it was getting dark and that she better get back to her room. Surely the doctor would stick up for her right? Then maybe not. He was a guy and staff after all. Two things she don't trust right away. Keeping her head low she was lonely, depressed, sad and hurting deeply. Her usual spirit of being happy, joker, bubbly was locked away, and trying to get out again. Her heart wanted to love again. But right now her mind was stopping her too, as the horrific past was still haunting her deeply. The past when the her ex beated her firstly, then raped her and lastly murdered her kids.

Ian smiled.
"Just relaxing really I'm off duty" he said cheerfully. She said that he had the wrong person. He shook his head.
"It's just a figure of speech Leigh" he said to her softly and watched as she started to get up. Ian gently rose from his seat and lightly grabbed her elbow stopping her.
"Whoa wait what's the rush? It's just time to relax and unwind you don't have to leave" He said to her looking surprised and confused. "Come and sit with me for a bit I'm not gonna bite I promsie"
He crossed his hands over his heart and watched her curiously. She had accidentally bumped his leg, but he dismissed it with a wave of his hand.
"Don't worry about it. So tell me a bit about yourself" he said softly, releasing her elbow and gesturing to her seat that she had vacated before.

Leighanne Shepherd Whenever I feel sad or upset I would changed into my deer form of the heart [/font][/center] Leighanne watched him some more, and immdatiley panicked when she was grabbed by the doctor. Well if he was saying he was off duty then he could easily hurt her and she wouldn't know any better. The strong smell of the wolf could be sense into her deer like senses. Wolves were natural predators for her species, so it was in her nature she would try and flee from him. Oh my god he is going to kill me! She thought and her heart started to race like mad. Was he being serious? Was he actually being friendly towards her or was it some kind of trick? She kept on thinking again in her head. "Come and sit with me for a bit I'm not gonna bite I promsie".
Is that some kind of joke? I know what you are and your kind wiped most my family out. You love deer steaks. So you saying you wouldn't bite is a lie. You don't have to humor me with it she wasn't being mean, but since she was fifteen, werewolves have hunted her deer shifter friends, the reason she was still alive as she was able to shift into three different animals before she settled into one. I am the only original shifter pure by blood still alive. You sure wouldn't attack me? I am not trying be funny. It a serious question she said some more to him, hoping he wouldn't snap at her.
How can I relax? You should try and be a patient here it isn't nice at all it was true, she was really struggling with the relaxation. Slowly she sat back down on her seat, using her long blond strands to hid the scars from everyone. Do you already know about me from the files? She asked him, playing with her fingers. Nothing much you would like to know believe me on that one. Her head kept on looking at the coffee which was cold, as she didn't bother drinking from it anymore. Playing with the fingers as she was really nervous still, though not as bad as she was beginning but very slowly trusting him.

Ian looked at her startled when she said if he was sure he wasn't going to attack her.
"Whatever gave you that idea, Leigh?" He exhaled loudly then paused for a moment. "Oh cause I'm a werewolf right? No Leigh. There's a stereotype going around about us 'werewolves'. Not everyone you meet will try and kill you. I'm one of the werewolves that are considered 'good'. We dont hurt humans, only kill animals for food. I've never tasted human blood in my entire life, and I dont plan on either." he said to her.
There were alot of werewolves that did like to hunt and tease humans, but he wasn't one of them. There were still some good ones, some of the newer generation per se that were 'vegetarians' and didnt' like hunting humans like cattle.
He studied Leigh.
"True, there's info in your file, but it's all professional. We aren't inside the asylum now so there's no reason to be so formal. Just pretend we're friends..which I hope we can become " Ian said softly as he slid back into his seat and picked up his coffee cup and sipped it, watching her with his blue eyes. The crowd began dwindling now, and it was getting quieter in the Starbucks. He waited for Leigh to sit down. If she wanted to flee, he wouldn't stop her but he was hoping that now she could see that not all werewolves were evil and vile and loved hurting the innocent.

Leighanne Shepherd Love in the heart you just have to look deep inside Leighanne noticed he was really upset after what she said. This wasn't she was trying to do. It was only a simple question right? There was something about him, that made her feel different. Like he was generally being friendly. Listening to his speech, she slowly she began to speak again.
I didn't mean to upset you doctor, really I didn't. So if I was in my shifter form as I am a animal in my other form. You would attack me? That's how my friends were killed sir. I watched in the bushes of them being slaughtered. One advantage of being young, is that I was able to changed into a tiny little mouse and pretended to dead all ready, which saved my life.
[/color] She explained more, and played with her fingers. Ok, but you don't blame me for asking you though right? You don't hate me now right? She asked looking at him some more. Then she finally realized where she have seen him. He looked actually like the guy she slept with once and got pregnant with Andrew. She couldn't remember his name, then again it was a one night stand, so why would she remember. Sometimes she wished that she carried out with her doctor studies. Would things be different? She may never know, but her heart was telling her there was a simple reason why she was here anyway. She just haven't worked out the clues yet. Why are you looking at me that way? She blushed a little and looked down. It have been a very long time when a another person looked at her, or even took a time to speak to her. You like to be friends? But isn't that against the rules? She spoke gently and looked at him back. Sitting back on her seat. I am not that much company you know, slowly she got up again from her seat. She wasn't going to leave. Slowly she walked towards him some more, and opened her arms up. My friends have taught me, that a person should hug if you like to be friends. It's a way of getting scent or something like that, I never understand it or asked questions about it either she explained, and her green eyes looked at him more, as her strands of stray hair still kept hiding the scars, as she waited and hoped he would hug her, as she missed this very much.[/font][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Ian grinned.
"There's no law that says we can't be friends," he chuckled and leaned over the table to give her a half hug to seal the deal.
"There we're officially friends now" he said brightly and settled back against the booth
"So, did your family contact you at any point?" Ian asked her. He knew of the horrible past she had endured, with her husband hurting her and then her kids being killed. It was no wonder she ended up in therapy He didn't even think he would be able to handle the grief either...but then again, he knew exactly where she was coming from.
His wife had been murdered by the humans 2 years ago. Though at the time he had immense hatred for them, during the years after, he learned to eventually forgive them and to move on. Humans always hurt what they didn't understand. It was just normal for them. He wanted to educate them first, not hurt them.
"I'm sure you're parents would be glad to hear you're doing so well yes?" he implied, finishing his coffee and croissant and kept his attention on her.

Leighanne wrapped her arms tightly around him. Feeling the warmth of another person felt wonderful. It was something she missed deeply. Yes she was social person. Slowly she allowed him to sit back down and she looked at him. Friends... I am glad of that. I don't like being enemies at all, slowly she sat down on her seat and she smiled some more.
I haven't spoken to my family since I left them. You see I quit my medical training and they never forgave me. Also I found out they weren't my real parents anyway. I don't know who my real family or parents are, or bothered to look. Maybe they were killed anyway. Being a deer, hunters kill you as well as the wolves. She explained to him.
She shrugged her shoulders and looked at him again. I don't know sir. I guess they would say I am disgrace for ending here. Maybe they blame me for what happened just like the police and social workers said. Tears were beginning to fill up and she sniffed a little. Someday I just want to be with them or trade places with them. She sighed and played with her fingers.
I bet you are shocked right, that I was training for a doctor right? She asked and put her coffee in the tashcan next to her and smiled more. How come you are alone here too sir? She asked curious, and waited some more.

Ian felt a lump forming in his throat.
"Well my wife was killed by humans two years ago. She was like me naturally. We wanted a family but never got the chance," he said.
It still bothered him to talk about it, but he knew Jessica would never want him to mope around for a long period of time. He really hadn't fallen for anyone since.
He ran a hand through his dark hair and studied Leigh.
"It's horrible. The humans can be barbaric sometimes, but I actually pity them. They are so wrapped up in making war with things they know nothing about instead of trying to better themselves" Ian said to her tossing his stuff into the garbage can. His blue eyes studied Leigh.
"I'm sorry about your family though." he added quietly. He looked outside. Darkness had crept in now and he could see a full moon hanging in the sky, causing a silver light to be cast over everything. He smiled at Leigh.
"How about we take a walk eh? It's a lovely night out. There's a full moon but don't worry I change when I want to."
He grinned at her. It was known that most werewolves can control their transformations. Some couldn't, but those were the older ones. He had been able to control himself since he was 16. He would change later, when he was well away from people in general. He stood up and held out his hand, offering it to Leigh to take. He waited patiently for her to take his hand

Hearing him talking about his wife and that she was murdered by humans. This made her heart dropped deeply, and she touched his hand again, slowly brushing her fingers cross his sweet and yet gently hands. How could anyone hurt a person like this. He was human too on the outside. Only once a month he turns into something else. No one should have the right to destroy that. Then again it was the problem she was facing herself, yeah she may not live long as he would. In fact she'll grow old and die just like any human being. leighanne remembered the murder of her first boyfriend. They were playing in a meadow which was about forty acres of green lush glades, before hitting the main woodland. Then suddenly a strange bang could be heard, and her friend was lying on the floor. Due to they coloring, they hid was worth more than the average red stag. In the thicket, she watched her lover being gutted and chopped into pieces, like he meant nothing.
I am sorry for your lost. I know what it's like to lose someone due to the humans. They killed my lover and sister, before the wolves wiped the rest of my herd out. I just don't understand why they should treat us like this. I mean we all the same right? I know you have a condition which makes you change into something else every month. But that doesn't mean you should die because of it. Humans hate us too, I mean we didn't do anything She explained to him, still rubbing his hand some more.
Looking into his handsome like blue eyes she felt more safe with him. The sky was now turned into dark navy blue, it was lovely. Silver twilke of the stars could be seen in the sky, and the bright white moon was everything she dreamt off. Yeah sure the moon would make him change but he promise he wouldn't hurt her, and she totally trusts him for that Stroking her hair again, she smiled and looked down, as she was blushing a little. His hand was ready to hold hers and she slowly took his.
Sure my friend I would love to walk with you, she spoke to him, and her dress was hanging down now. She was waiting for him to take and show her there was still beauty left in the world, even with the war that was going on.

Ian smiled as she took her hand and felt her gently rubbing it. She spoke about how she was sorry.
Ian patted her own hand.
"Thank you. I haven't fallen for anyone since then. It's been a while really" he sighed missing the female companion. He walked alongside Leigh as they headed down the street. A foot bridge was built over a small river. Ian headed over the bridge, and stopped in the middle, letting his arms cross over the railing. A gentle breeze whisked his dark hair around as he leaned against the concrete railing.
He turned back to Leigh.
"Well I'm glad we bumped into one another today. We would've never become friends like we are now," he explained grinning at her broadly. He gazed up at the dark sky, watching the stars twinkle merrily. The moon popped behind a fluffy cloud. He felt the pull of the moon, but his body was used to holding it off. He felt Leigh beside him.
He gently put his arms around her and hugged her tightly, letting his chin rest on her shoulder.
"Things will get better Leigh, trust me" he said softly into her hair. He gently pulled back from the embrace but kept his hands on her shoulders. "Those that hurt us or caused us pain, will get what's coming to them"
He said softly.
He gently touched her cheek, but then caught himself and cleared his throat. He lowered his hands and stood close to her, waiting for her response

Being around a gently and yet handsome man was nice. leighanne have missed it deeply. Fear of being hurt deeply just like Mark did to her. Most of the torture scars she have had from him were hidden deeply with the big sky blue dress and long blond hair. Watching the sky some more as she watched him flirting with her, and it was driving her crazy. Heart was racing more, and she hugged him back.
You think we would survive this war Ian? I mean sir?
[/b] She looked at his eyes. You mean we would have to attack them? Ian I can't hurt anyone, I am not like that. I think we should educated the younger humans, that's the only way we can stop this war. Fighting and killing humans isn't the answer, we are no better than them other wise[/b] she explained to him, and hope he would understand Soft and gently breeze came pass them, and her hair flew all over the place. His hands were still on her shoulders. But they were gripping them like what she was used to feel. It was devotion and caring hold. I just can't hold it off anymore, slowly she reached towards him, pulling her body closer. Her chest touched his, as her lips connected over his. Five smooth long minutes she kissed him, and gently as she connected them, she pulled away. Sorry about that.Head was carried low and face turned bright red as she was really embarrassed now. I couldn't help it. I just never had this softness and cariness before from a man. My heart and feelings just over took me.[/b] She explained and looked at the pavement some more.[/font][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Ian felt her press her lips against his. For a moment, he was startled. She seemed embarrassed after kissing him. She explained that she wasn't used to having someone be gentle around her.
She was staring at the pavement now. Ian sighed. He found that he was starting to fall for her as well but the dr/pt thing was nagging him.
He stepped forward and gently cupped her chin , making her look at him directly.
"You don't have to be embarrassed Leigh," he said quietly gently stroking her cheek with his thumb. "I am having feelings too, only this dr/pt scenario is nagging me."
He wanted to be honest with her even though his own heart was aching for a companion and she was the most sweetest, kindest person there was. It wasn't the werewolf/shifter thing, cause that really wasn't an issue. He stared into her pretty face and on impulse, leaned in and gently kissed her back just as softly and gently. They were adults and it was up to them to decide not some stupid label.
He gently pulled back from the kiss and gently began kissing her neck. After a few moments, he stopped and pulled her into a tight embrace.
"But I'm not going to let some label damage anything" he whispered in her hair, holding her close tightly. "I am falling for you Leigh"
He pressed his face into her hair and enjoyed the embrace.
