Rose leaned against the railing that lined the opened bridge, which connected one part of the Asylum to the next. A gentle breeze whipped her blond hair back away from her face. She was off duty now so she had changed into a pair of grey jogging pants, a white tank top with spaghetti shoulder straps, and a matching grey hoodie over that. Her blond hair was pulled into a ponytail, with some of the shorter strands hanging loose. She inhaled deeply, loving the wonderful scents that came with spring.
She reached up and tucked some of the strands behind her ears as she surveyed the land before her. The whole area was beautiful and gorgeous and technically, they had the run of the mountain. It was closed off from humans of course there were barriers, but most of the supernaturals didn't want to converse with humans much anyway. There were still salt in the wound.
She exhaled loudly and stretched her arms over her head, causing the hem of the jogging jacket to rise up exposing her midriff. She lazily lowered her arms then and watched a few birds take flight against the the blue sky. Fluffy white clouds rolled across, framing the mountain ranges. She wished her family would contact her, but they were one of the ones that hated the paranormals and blamed them for the accident in town. Rose tried to explain that most of the pyro's would never do something like that, that the whole situation had been funny to begin with.
They hadn't wanted to hear anything about it. Rose was hurt and confused as they shipped her off to this asylum. Even though Rose disapproved of the war, she can understand why it was being rallied and wanted to start.

Lee wasn't exactly in the mood to be around anyone tonight. Then again, the feeling was probably mutual. He was a newbie in the Asylum, having run here when he had little choice as to where else he could go. After all, he'd deserted the rebels after seeing how violent they were. A shudder rippled through his body as he thought about his last encounter with the twisted group. He'd lost control, he'd killed, and right after, had run off like a coward. But it had been getting to the point where he couldn't take it anymore, he supposed. The more and more he got involved with that ragtag group, the more he had started to regret it.
"If only I wasn't such an idiot as a teenager," he sighed as he stuffed his hands in his back pockets and waltzed out onto the bridge. It was cold outside, but not windy. Just a small chill really, nothing the Steeldirge couldn't handle. With a sigh, he walked along slowly, his gaze turned out on the horizon. He felt terrible, for all of this.... the rebels violence, the humans retaliating and locking up the gifted. It was a mess, a big, fucking, horrible mess.
Lee stopped in his tracks suddenly, teeth bared, anger bubbling up within him. What gave either side a right to start a war? It was... horrible. With a huff, the young man leaned over the railing, tempted to take out a joint and smoke away his troubles. Of course though, before he could even make sense of his thoughts, a woman came walking towards him from the other direction. Blinking, he kept his drugs in his pocket, instead reaching up to fix his tie. She looked vaguely familiar. Had they met already?
Ah, but then it hit him; she was part of security. Well good thing I didn't take out my weed. I dunno what she woulda done about that.... his thoughts trailed off though, his eyes trailing over her frame once. Oh... she was a looker. Well, that was all as well for him. He liked pretty women... and men for that matter, and pretty much anything in between too. He didn't really give too much of a damn about who he got his fix from, so long as he got it eventually. Grinning lopsidedly, Leonardo turned around, instead leaning back on the railing with his elbows, "Hey," he tried, his voice light, kind. He didn't want to scare her off of course. "Off duty for once?"

Rose looked up and spied Leonoardo standing there. She grinned and nodded.
"Yep I'm off duty. Just relaxing now and enjoying my time off." she said to him cheerfully as she leaned against the railing next to him. A gentle breeze blew her hair back away from her face exposing small diamond stud earrings in her ears. She had unzipped her jogging jacket and turned to him.
"What about you Leo? What are you up to?" Rose asked him curiously.
She scented some drugs off him, but said nothing. It wasn't up to her. The security's main job was to make sure that no humans got on the premises. What the residents did on their own time was their business. Still, she had to make sure that things ran smoothly and no fights or problems arose while on campus.
"Where are you headed?" Roselyn asked him turning sideways to let her hip rest against the rail and she crossed her arms over her chest as she regarded him. A matching diamond necklace glittered softly against her chest, just above her cleavage. She cocked an eyebrow at him while she waited. He was known to be a free spirit and whatnot so she never knew what he was up to or where he was going for that matter. He had a reputation around for being quite a charmer and she was not going to be caught up in the charm.

Lee let out a small chuckle, glad that she had decided to join him, even if only for a few moments. He could use the company, and maybe if he was lucky, he could get something more out of this. Of course, he'd never force anything on anyone, but he'd let her know that he'd been at least captivated by her appearance. With a goofy grin, he turned just slightly towards her, "Yeah? Well I promise I can make your time off more entertaining..." he trailed off, wiggling his eyebrows just for the hell of it before laughing full out. "Nah, I'm glad you joined me, but uh... call me Lee, not Leo."
He paused for a moment, letting out a sigh and casting his gaze out on the horizon, "I don't think I'm doing anything or going anywhere. I'm a little bit stuck here till I figure out what to do with myself, no?" He stopped again however, turning back to Roselyn, "This life of mine has no direction. It might have at one point, but I sorta fucked it up. Now I'm just after any shot at happiness I can find. Of course, having a beautiful woman around just makes me feel all that much better."
He grinned stupidly at her after that, "You know I don't actually know your name. I just know you're security...." he trailed off, looking at her expectantly. "Do I get the honor of knowing at long last, or am I just gonna have to come up with a nickname for you?"

Rose grinned and blushed a bit as she responded.
"Roselyn, or simply Rose" she said softly. "Oh really? And how could you make my time off more interesting?"
Her tone was teasing and light as she grinned.
"Well, anyway, if you want, you can accompany me to the gym or head to Starbucks for some coffee and goodies?" she offered him lightly as she watched him.
He seemed nice enough and Rose felt herself relaxing a bit more around him. Though Rose never really judged based on appearances or rumors that were started, she did be careful and make sure that if she felt uncomfortable in the least, she would be out of there in a heartbeat.
Rose was able to pick things up being she was clairvoyant, but nothing told her to run nor did she have alarm bells going off in her head so that was good.
"So Lee, what do you do? Do you have a job?" Rose asked him curiously cocking her head to one side curiously. She knew some had jobs while others work inside the asylum. Not everyone did have jobs but she was curious to hear if he did

"Score!" he cheered like a kid that'd just gotten candy. "Well then, nice to officially meet you, my dearest Rose. Let's hope you haven't got too many thorns on you...." he trailed off, smirking just a bit at the blush that creeped over her face at his complements. This was almost too easy. Though to his surprise, it seemed she was pretty content with all of this, asking her to go out with her for the night. With a blink and then his usual, stupid grin, he stood up straight, offering a small bow and a hand to her.
"I'd be honored to accompany you," he could hardly contain his laughter though. This was too much fun for him. He loved overdoing things like this. He waited for an acceptance or decline to his little gesture, looking up at her expectantly.
As soon as they started to walk off, Leonardo was caught a little off guard by her question. Didn't everyone know about where he'd been before now? He shook his head, "I was in the war... for a while. I... I guess all I do now is lazy around and play guitar all day...." he trailed off, bringing a hand up to rub his neck. "But you know..."
No, she really didn't. How could she after all? She hadn't seen the violence like he had, he was sure. But he didn't want to get into it. The more he thought about it, the more disgusted he was with himself for ever thinking that joining the rebellion was a good idea. "So, the gym? Or Starbucks?"

Rose grinned at him.
"Sure let's head to the Starbucks. I could use a caffiene buzz," She joked lightly.
His expression turned serious then with the war. She nodded.
"I can certainly understand, though I don't approve of the war at all" she admitted to him.
She stretched a bit before she began walking off the bridge, waiting for him to follow her so she could fall in line next to him. If he supported the war, this was going to be interesting for sure. Rose was totally against it.
Still, she knew everyone was entitled to their opinions, but still, she didn't have to agree with any of them.
"What about your family? What do they have to say?" Rose asked him curiously, falling in line next to him easily. She looped her thumbs into the waistband of her jogging pants as she walked. She inhaled, loving the wonderful scents that began hitting her. The sun vanished behind the clouds for a brief moment engulfing them in semi darkness.
Rose's own family was against the war and went a far as shielding some of the humans who hated the war because there were the rogue groups that wanted to harm them. She blinked and watched Lee, waiting for his response

"Starbucks it is then," he exclaimed, easily slipping his free arm over her shoulders and pulling her right up against him as they walked. He didn't bother to look at her reaction to the gesture, he had a pretty good idea of what it might be.
The conversation took another serious turn, and Lee sighed, "I'm not for it at all. Violence doesn't solve anything... which... i learned the hard way." He paused, not really content with his own answer, but not wanting to further discuss the subject. He'd never be able to forgive himself for all the trouble he'd caused. Besides that, the rebels all hated him now, for abandoning them... for supporting the "human" side rather than the side of the gifted after giving to their service for so long. But he could never support anyone willing to rush into battle and spill blood like that. It wasn't right.... It just wasn't right.
"My family?" he repeated. "They haven't been a part of my life since I turned eighteen ten years back, so I can't really give you a detailed idea. Ma probably would have been against it. Dad... hard to know. He was kinda fucked up, though, aren't we all in some way?" he shrugged a little, "And here we are~ What do you want to drink? I'm buying."

Rose felt him put his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close to him without even asking if she would like that. She gave him a disgusted look and lightly pulled away.
"Next time you pull a stunt like that again, I'll happily remind you of violence," Rose said stiffly adjusting her shirt as she walked along side Lee, without any help.
Her tone softened.
"Yeah violence can be meaningless sometimes. There are other ways to resolve differences" she admitted nodding.
They entered Starbucks and she heard him ask what she wanted to drink.
"How about an iced tea?" she said. "I'll go find a booth to sit"
She headed over to one of the booths and slid in carefully. She cleared her throat and waited for him to come back with the drinks. Rose didn't like guys who thought they could right away touch a girl without asking. Call her old fashioned, but she didn't particularly like it when a guy took it upon himself to do that. She reached up and pulled her hair over her left shoulder and looked out the window. The sun would be setting soon, and she wanted to get back to the Asylum to start on some paper work for the morning. Though she was the lead security , there was still a lot to do. She waited for Lee to come back with the drinks

"Ouch, break a man's heart why don't ya!" he joked when she pulled away from him. He had expected that much, but Lee wasn't ever really one to be tame. He liked being as out there as possible, if only for the shock value of it all. Grinning his usual, stupid grin, he saluted Roselyn playfully and stood in line to get the drinks. One iced tea, and one hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream.
Lee, you're such a child, he thought to himself, a small chuckle making its way out of him as he approached the counter. He was in a particularly good mood this evening, and so with a goofy-toothed smile, he told the guy to keep the extra change as he brought the drinks back to the booth Rose had settled at. "One iced tea," he announced, sliding the drink over to her as if he were at a bar counter. It stopped just in front of her frame to which Lee had to smirk a bit, before shifting into the seat across from his guest for the night. "So, Rose... are you free tonight?"
The glint in his eyes was unmistakably mischievous. The fact that Roselyn had decided to make this hard for him only made him that much more determined, "Cuz... I happen to have a gig tonight. I put on a pretty good performance, if I might say so myself...."

Rose arched an eyebrow at him.
"You sure are full of yourself aren't you?" she asked him shrewdly as she sipped her tea. "What time is it?" She asked him.
She cleared her throat and flipped her hair over her shoulder as she waited for him to respond to her. Pushy guys never went far with her. She didn't like to be pushed into anything she didn't want to do.
Plus, depending on the time, she had to get up and start her shift early in the morning. She worked from six am until like 5 at night. It was a long day, but thankfully she got several good breaks in between otherwise she would never make it really.
"Cause I gotta be back in the grounds by midnight to start sleeping to get ready for my morning shift" She said taking another sip of her iced tea. By now, the place was starting to mellow out and become much more quieter and the people began leaving. She didn't mind it but for some reason felt unnerved. SHe shook her head and cleared her thoughts waiting for Lee to respond
